Who is Jane@Hummingbird?
A good question and I’m beginning to believe it’s evolving and without end. What I could tell you today might not be what I would tell you tomorrow. I could tell you my life’s history but how boring would that be. I could embellish it with tales of derring-do or woe that would startle you and possibly me, but it still wouldn’t tell you who I am. So I’ll tell you a little about me and hope you find answers to who I am in my painting. I am a woman in my late 60’s and my life’s tapestry is vast with some areas of lushness and others being faded and bare. I have a family who I adore and friends who are family who I also adore.
I was born in a Village on the outskirts of Bristol and have lived in several areas of the South West UK. I am now living in South Staffordshire enjoying where I live and that I have the time to paint.
I have loved Art from a child. I could draw with pencil and an ink pen but when it came to adding paint I was hopeless. When I re-discovered inks as an adult I found great joy and passion and delight in what I created. I still had an unanswered need to use acrylic paint to create something that still remained beyond my abilities. I began to look towards other Artists who were making beautiful paintings and it was there that I found it. My inspiration, joy and passion to be able to create something remarkable…….well that’s the hope anyway. My journey is just beginning. Feel free to join me. Jane
